Troy Springborn heads to victory at Sycamore Speedway.
What won the race: Fourth-starting Troy Springborn of Shawano, Wis., took the lead for good on lap eight and paced the final 23 circuits Friday at Sycamore Speedway, winning the Summer Sizzler feature and collecting $3,000. Springborn notched his third series victory of the season.
Key notes: Mike Spatola of Manhattan, Ill., led laps six and seven before giving way to Springborn and finishing 2.446 seconds back. ... Dirt Kings points leader Nick Anvelink of Bonduel, Wis., advanced 16 positions and finished third. ... Taylor Scheffler of Waukesha, Wis., led laps three and four before fading to finish fourth. ... A total of five drivers led the race, exchanging the lead five separate times. ... Lukas Postl advanced seven positions and finished fifth. ... Justin Ritchie gained 12 positions and finished ninth. ... Joel Bennett led lap two before fading to finish 10th. ... Polesitter Todd Frank led lap one before retiring on lap two and finishing 20th. ... Friday's feature, the 13th stop on the tour's 17-race schedule, was slowed by nine cautions and lasted 34 minutes, with 15 competitors completing all 30 laps. ... The Dirt Kings Tour concludes its weekend doubleheader with a $1,500-to-win stop at Wilmot (Wis.) Raceway on Saturday.
