What won the race: Jason Deal of Copperhill, Tenn., utilized the low-line and executed a late pass on Adam Ahl of Morristown, Tenn., winning Friday's second annual C.T. Barnett Memorial feature at Tri-County Racetrack, collecting $3,437.38.
Key notes: Ahl led from lap 17 until the late going and settled for the runner-up position, narrowly holding-off Randy Dillard of Epworth, Ga., who finished third. ... Jamie Oliver of Murphy, N.C., led the first 16 laps before pulling off the track under caution, relegating him to finish 10th. It was befitting that Oliver ran strong and looked to contend for the win on Friday, an event that honors his late grandfather, Clarence "C.T." Barnett. Barnett of Murphy, N.C., passed away on Aug. 31, 2021, at the age of 93, attended the track’s first race in 1967 and only missed a handful of events over the 54-year history of the Ray Cook-promoted Brasstown, N.C.-oval.
