Tyler Erb won Friday's second 20-lap prelim feature.
What won the race: Tyler Erb of New Waverly, Texas used a slide job to take the lead from Wil Herrington on lap three and led the rest of the way in Friday's second 20-lap, $2,500 semifeature at Whynot Motorsports Park, on the opening night of the 28th annual Coors Light Fall Classic.
Key notes: Herrington, of Hawkinsville, Ga., remained inside the top-five until officials determined he made contact while battling Josh Putnam for third place on the lap-nine restart attempt, causing Dane Dacus to spin. Herrington was forced to tag the field and recovered to finish ninth. Putnam, of Florence, Ala., finished 0.855 of a second behind Erb. ... Neil Baggett gained five positions and finished third. ... Dalton Cook gained seven spots and finished fifth. ... Austin Franklin advanced nine spots and finished seventh. ... Dacus retired after the lap-nine incident involving Herrington and finished 13th. ... Monte Skinner scratched and was credited with finishing 17th. ... MERIDIAN, Miss. (Oct. 21) — Updates from Friday’s second 20-lap, $2,500-to-win semi-feature for the 28th annual Coors Light Fall Classic at Whynot Motorsports Park, which features a $12,000-to-win main event for Super Late Models on Saturday (results unofficial):

Second prelim feature

Polesitter Tyler Erb of New Waverly, Texas used a slide job to take the lead from fellow front-row starter Wil Herrington of Hawkinsville, Ga., on lap three and led the rest of the way in Friday's second 20-lap, $2,500 semifeature at Whynot Motorsports Park, on the opening night of the 28th annual Coors Light Fall Classic. Erb went on to finish 0.855 of a second ahead of Josh Putnam of Florence, Ala., who started third and fell back to fifth on the opening lap before regaining his composure and grabbing the second position on lap five.

Eighth-starting Neil Baggett of Columbus, Miss., rallied to finish third, while Morgan Bagley of Longview, Texas, improved 10 positions to secure the fourth position. Dalton Cook of Salem, Ala., picked up seven spots to round out the top five.

Friday's preliminary feature results will be used to set the starting lineup for Saturday's 60-lap, $12,000-to-win main event. Both Erb and Putnam will start from the pole position of their respective heats Saturday.
