Bobby Pierce celebrates his $10,000 victory at Florence Speedway.
What won the race: Inheriting the lead on lap 28 when race-long leader Josh Rice tangled with a slower car, Bobby Pierce of Oakwood, Ill., led the final 22 laps of Saturday's $10,000 Fall 50 feature at Florence Speedway.
Quotable: "I feel bad for Josh, me and him were having a heck of a race and I felt like I was just starting to gain on him before we caught the lapped cars," Pierce said. "I know he had some harder tires on than me too, so it's kind of backwards from what it should've been, but it would've been fun to battle with him."
Key notes: Driving his father's No. 6T, Zack Dohm of Cross Lanes, W.Va., moved into the runner-up position on lap 41 and finished 0.908 of a second back. ... Modified standout Adam Stricker advanced 16 positions and finished third in his Late Model debut. ... Jensen Ford gained 12 spots and finished sixth. ... Three-time feature winner at Florence this year, Josh Rice of Verona, Ky., led the first 27 laps from the pole before getting pinched into the wall entering turn one while trying to lap Jason Jameson. Rice displayed his displeasure with Jameson before exiting the track with heavy front suspension damage and finished 23rd. ... Jameson, who had pitted earlier in the race with a flat tire, continued before bringing out a caution on lap 40 and finishing 18th. ... Saturday's feature, Florence's season finale, was slowed by seven cautions and lasted 39 minutes, with 11 drivers completing 50 laps.
On the move: Adam Stricker of Batavia, Ohio, started 19th and finished third.
