Cory Hedgecock takes the checkers for his $5,000 victory.
What won the race: Taking the lead on lap 16, Cory Hedgecock of Loudon, Tenn., paced the final 24 circuits to win Saturday's seventh annual $5,000 Leftover feature at 411 Motor Speedway. Hedgecock earned his second straight Leftover victory and the ninth of his career with the Valvoline Iron-Man Racing Series.
Key notes: After finishing second at Boyd's Speedway last weekend, Mack McCarter of Gatlinburg, Tenn., earned his second straight runner-up, finishing 1.235 seconds back. ... Jed Emert advanced six positions and finished third. ... Booger Brooks led the first 15 laps from the pole before fading to finish fourth. ... Michael Chilton finished fifth, clinching his second career Iron-Man Southern Series championship. ... Joey Leavell gained four spots and finished seventh. ... Russell Erwin battled Chilton for fourth place before retiring on lap 21 and finishing 19th. ... Saturday's feature, the season finale for the Iron-Man Southern Series, was slowed by two cautions and lasted 17 minutes, with 14 competitors completing all 40 laps.
On the move: Adam Ahl of Morristown, Tenn., started 13th and finished sixth.
