What won the race: Pole-starting Cory Hedgecock of Loudon, Tenn., led 40 laps at North Georgia Speedway to capture Saturday's American All-Star Series event in the Ridge and Valley 40 feature. Earning $3,000, Hedgecock notched his sixth victory of the season and his second with Crate tour. Hedgecock added to the more than $20,000 in race winnings he's earned over nine days.
Key notes: Booger Brooks of Chattanooga, Tenn., ran all 40 laps in the runner-up position, finishing 2.388 seconds back. ... Seth Wimpey advanced three positions and finished third. ... A night after securing his first career American All-Star victory at Tri-County (N.C.) Racetrack, Chip Brindle started and finished fourth. ... Jake Knowles gained three spots and finished seventh. ... Trevor Sise sustained damage and was unable to finish his heat race before completing only nine laps in the feature and finishing 23rd. ... Saturday's feature, the tour's inaugural visit to North Georgia, ran caution-free and lasted just shy of 10 minutes, making it the quickest 40-lapper in series history. Fifteen drivers completed the distance.
On the move: Seth Wimpey of Blue Ridge, Ga., started sixth and finished third.
Winner's sponsors: Hedgecock’s BMF Race Car is powered by an Eagle Racing Engine and carries sponsorship from E-Z-Go, STI Trucking, SFP Performance, W.E. Hardscapes & Masonry, Currin Construction, Noble Knights Construction Services, Vineyard Enterprises, Winters Performance and Quickcar Racing.
