Lance Schill raced to his second career NLRA victory at River Cities.
What won the race: Regaining the lead for the final time on lap 15, Lance Schill of Langdon, N.D., led the final 11 laps at River Cities Speedway, winning Friday's $1,250 Northern LateModel Racing Association feature. Schill led twice for a total of 22 laps (1-11; 15-25), earning his second career NLRA series victory.
Quotable: “I tell ya what, to start side-by-side with a good friend of mine that’s also a (No.) 17, of (Mike) Greseth, he’s lights-out wherever he goes,” Schill said. “Brad Seng, Rusty Kollman, that’s a workout, that was awesome. We’re really partial. We support the blue, we support our military, we support everyone that keeps us safe, day in and day out, so we appreciate that. We thank everyone for coming and God bless America.”
Key notes: Two-time NLRA winner at River Cities last year, Brad Seng used lapped traffic to his advantage and led once for three laps (12-14) at his home track; After falling to third, Seng regained the runner-up spot on a lap-16 restart and finished 0.638 of a second back. ... Two-time reigning series champion Mike Greseth ran as high as second before settling for third. ... Joey Pederson and Shane Edginton each advanced four positions, finishing fourth and fifth. ... Dustin Strand gained three spots and finished seventh. ... Bryce Sward started 15th and finished 10th. ... Friday's feature, ran as the undercard to the World of Outlaws Sprint Cars, was slowed by only one caution and lasted nine minutes, with 17 competitors completing all 25 laps.
On the move: Tyler Peterson of Hickson, N.D., started 17th and finished sixth.
