Tyler Emory gets up to speed before his Bedford victory.
What won the race: Second-starting Tyler Emory of King George, Va., took advantage of a lap-17 restart, powering around race-long leader Michael Norris to go onto Thursday's $4,000 victory at Bedford Speedway in round five of Appalachian Mountain Speedweek feature. Norris of Sarver, Pa., finished 2.438 seconds behind at the finish.
Key notes: Emory's win, the second of his Super career, extends his miniseries points lead to 125 over Kyle Hardy, who finished seventh on Thursday; Emory also extends his top-five streak to four races in a row. ... Michael Norris, winner of Saturday's second-round event at Port Royal, led the first 16 laps in what he says is his final race of Speedweek. ... Jeff Rine of Danville, Pa., started and finished third aboard the Elbin family-owned No. 92 machine. ... Kyle Lee advanced six positions and finished fourth. ... Gregg Satterlee and Matt Cosner each gained four spots, finishing fifth and ninth. Lee and Satterlee each clocked their quickest lap of the night on the race's final circuit. ... Dylan Yoder started 14th and finished sixth. ... After sustaining a flat left rear tire in his qualifier and securing the last transfer spot in his consolation, Rick Eckert of York, Pa., moved forward 14 positions and finished 10th. ... Drake Troutman ran as high as third in the opening laps before a flat right-rear tire did him in on lap 33; he finished 17th. ... Winner of Clinton County's $4,000 Speedweek opener, Jason Covert, slowed with a rear-end failure while running 16th on lap 16 and was unable to continue. ... Full-week drivers failing to qualify: Dillan Stake (15th in AMS points), Andrew Yoder (16th), Larry Neiderer (18th), Nathan Long (19th) and R.J. Dallape (20th). ... Thursday's feature was slowed by three cautions and lasted 19 minutes, with 16 competitors completing all 35 laps.
