Jake Redetzke picked up the checkered flag at ABC Raceway.
What won the race: Jake Redetzke of Eau Claire, Wis., raced to Thursday's Structural Buildings WISSOTA Challenge Series XR Northern Storm victory by 1.703 seconds over 12th-starting Pat Doar. Redetzke recorded his first series victory of the season and 16th of his career as ABC Raceway paid tribute to late racer Tanner Byholm.
Quotable: “Yeah you know we pulled one off at (Cedar Lake Speedway's) Masters, but this one means a whole lot more,” Redetzke said. “I wasn’t super close with Tanner (Byholm), but you know, you just get a vibe for this race. I’ve known him for a really long time and yeah, these memorial races are tough man.”
Key notes: Ryan Mikkelson and Derek Vesel each advanced four positions, finishing third and fourth. ... Kevin Eder gained 13 spots and finished eighth. ... Sam Mars started 17th and finished ninth. ... Thursday's feature lasted 23 minutes, with 19 drivers completing 44 laps and 20 running at the finish.
