Jason Feger hoists Friday's winnings at Jacksonville sky-high.
What won the race: Second-starting Jason Feger of Bloomington, Ill., fought off challenges from Ryan Unzicker in the closing stages and led all 40 caution-plagued laps at Jacksonville Speedway, winning Friday's $5,000 ninth annual Wild Man Kelly Classic. Feger notched his fourrth MARS victory of the season and 19th of his career.
Quotable: “Yeah I know somebody here in Jacksonville has a big Busch Light for me, they like to drink down here,” Feger said. “Man, I gotta say thanks to the tow truck drivers, they were the hardest working guys here tonight. That was a long race, thanks to these fans for coming out and supporting us, we love getting to come here. This place always has a little character, but it had a lot of character tonight.”
Key notes: Fourth-starting Ryan Unzicker made it interesting late, nearly drawing even with Feger for several laps before finishing 0.287 of a second back. ...
