What won the race: Fourth-starting Michael Norris of Sarver, Pa., took the lead on lap 17 and cruised to win Saturday's $6,010 34th annual Jook George Steel City Classic. Norris notched his eighth overall victory of the season and his first with the RUSH Crate Late Model Series.
Quotable: "I was riding early and a couple of those guys got by me," Norris said. "I was kind of waiting to burn some fuel off and the top was still kind of crumby in the beginning. I figured I'd try the top on the restart so I went into (turn) one and never lifted. The car could have been a little better, but it was good enough to get the job done and that's all that matters."
Key notes: Fifth-starting Brandon Burgoon moved into the runner-up spot on lap 48 and finished 1.380 seconds back. ... Twenty second-starting Kyle Lukon ran as high as second in the closing laps before settling for third. ... Seven-time series winner this season, 10th-starting Jeremy Wondering moved into fourth on a lap-45 restart. ... Second-starting Ben Policz led the first 16 laps before fading to finish fifth. ... Zach Gunn ran as high as second in the early laps before finishing sixth. ... Teenager Brock Pinkerous advanced seven positions and finished seventh. ... Justin Chance gained nine spots and finished ninth. ... Pole-starting Mike Wonderling Jr. faded from the start and finished 13th. ... Saturday's 50-lap feature lasted 31 minutes and saw 16 drivers complete the distance.
On the move: Kyle Lukon of Burgettstown, Pa., started 22nd and finished third.
Winner's sponsors: Norris’ Nico Dabecco-owned ND Motorsports Rocket Chassis is powered by an Ingram Racing Engine and carries sponsorship from Millerstown Pic-A-Part, Cory Fox Trucking, Jay’s Auto Wrecking, Vince Wallace Racing, D&D Auto Salvage and LoJaks Cycle Sales.
