What won the race: Pole-starting Cody Overton of Evans, Ga., led all 40 laps in dominating fashion to win Saturday's $5,000 Crate Racin' USA stop at Swainsboro Raceway. Winning his first CRUSA race of the season, Overton crossed the checkers ahead of Pearson Lee Williams who regained the runner-up spot on lap 17 and finished 3.595 seconds back.
Key notes: Crate Racin’ USA points leader Mark Whitener ran as high as second in the early laps before settling for third. ... Jackson Hise regained fourth place on the final lap. ... Ben Faircloth also passed Joshua Bishop on the final lap, rounding-out the top five at his home track. ... Bishop, of Statesboro, Ga., occupied fourth place for nearly the entire second half until slipping to finish sixth. ... Jake Knowles advanced three positions and finished eighth. ... Saturday's 18-minute feature saw seven drivers complete 40 laps with 17 running at the finish.
