What won the race: Fourth-starting Montana Dudley of Phenix City, Ala., endured numerous restarts and led all 37 laps to win Sunday's $5,000 604 Crate Late Model portion of the National 100 event at East Alabama Motor Speedway. Dudley crossed the checkers 0.441 of a second ahead of Allen Styck in a race that was cut short by three laps because of time constraints.

Quotable: “My breather on the helmet fell off a couple laps into it and I knew it got hot in there, I was trying to figure out what the heck was going on and under that red flag I seen it fell off, but man, I’m excited” Dudley said. “Honestly, after I had my kids, I never thought I’d be able to afford to get back into (racing). Thank you to the Elliott and Sheffield family for giving me this opportunity to drive again. Success came a lot quicker than I thought, after taking five or six years off.”

Key notes: The seventh-starting Styck, of Americus, Ga., moved into the runner-up spot on lap 28 and trailed Dudley for the final 10 circuits. ...
