Bobby Pierce (32) slips around Mason Zeigler (25z) at Path Valley.
What won the race: Powering around Mason Zeigler as the leaders faced heavy lapped traffic, eighth-starting Bobby Pierce led the final 14 laps of Sunday's $10,000 World of Outlaws Case Late Model Series debut at Path Valley Speedway. Pierce captured his second WoO victory of the season and 20th of his career.
Quotable: "It was a super-fun race all around," Pierce said. "We caught some breaks here and there and it was just an awesome racetrack. I thought they overwatered the track, but it was all it took to make two lanes out there. We really needed that badly.”
Key notes: Pierce was still running sixth on lap 12 before coming alive and grabbing the lead on lap 27. ... Mason Zeigler led laps 3-26 before giving way to Pierce and finishing 2.523 seconds back. ... Fifth-starting Brandon Sheppard pursued Zeigler from laps 9-25 before settling for third. ... Nick Hoffman led the opening two laps from the pole before left-front suspension damage after contact with Zeigler knocked him out of contention, relegating him to finish seventh. Hoffman broke a bolt on the left-front lower A-frame. ... Rick Eckert spun on lap 11 to draw the race's third and final caution, collecting Brian Shirley. Eckert was unable to continue. ... Bidding for three straight series victories, Chris Madden, set to start sixth, headed to the pit area during the feature's pace laps and failed to complete a single circuit due to terminal engine problems. ... Sunday's feature lasted 20 minutes, with 16 competitors completing the distance and 22 running at the finish.
On the move: Kyle Bronson of Brandon, Fla., started 16th and finished sixth.
