What won the race: Overcoming race-long challenges from Cole Searing and Blair Nothdurft, third-starting Chad Olsen of Hendricks, Minn., captured Saturday's 25-lap Harvest of Champions at Dakota State Fair Speedway. Olsen's flag-to-flag victory netted him $2,000 and his first Repairable Vehicles.com Tri-State Late Model Series triumph of the season.
Key notes: Olsen's seventh career Tri-State Series victory is his first win of any kind since May 20, 2023, at I-90 Speedway in Hartford, S.D. ... Series points leader Blair Nothdurft regained the runner-up spot from Cole Searing on a lap-17 restart and pursued Olsen for the final nine laps, finishing 0.797 of a second back. ... The seventh-starting Searing, of Huron, S.D., trailed Olsen from laps 13-16 before giving way to Nothdurft and completing the podium finishers. ... Pole-starting Corey Zeitner slipped to fifth. ... Chad Becker, winner of Friday's $2,000 opener at Miller (S.D.) Central Speedway, faded to seventh. ... Mike Stearns pulled off while running sixth on lap 20 and was the first driver not running at the finish. ... The main event was slowed by three incidents, including a 20-minute red flag for a multicar melee on a lap-six restart attempt that ended the nights for Cody Martin, Mike Benson, Kyle Jensen and Brandon Sprinkel; the race lasted 33 minutes, with 16 starters completing 25 laps. ... Justin Boomsma and Curt Kranz scratched from the feature lineup.
