What won the race: Inheriting the lead when a lap-16 flat tire forced Austin Horton pitside, Blake Craft of Lavonia, Ga., led the rest of Saturday's 40-lap Limited Late Model feature at East Alabama Motor Speedway for a $5,000 payday. Craft won on the 50th annual National 100 undercard by 2.801 seconds over Tucker Anderson, who led the first 12 laps before Horton slipped by on the inside.
Quotable: "I hate that for Horton," Craft said, "but we went with probably the wrong tire. I started getting tired there towards the end. I was scared I was eating the tire up, but it made it. It scared me there for a little bit."
Key notes: Polesitter Austin Horton, who won the Limited Late Model portion of the National 100 in 2021-22, led laps 13-15 but had a flat right-front tire that forced him to the pits. He returned to finish fifth. ... Tucker Anderson led the first 12 laps but got shuffled back to fourth on the lap-15 restart; he recovered to finish second. ... Ricky Culpepper was running fifth when he retired with two laps remaining. ... Besides the lap-16 caution for Horton, two other yellow flags and a red flag slowed the action. ... The red flag appeared on the 27th lap for a violent tangle between teammates Travis Price and Jimmy Price exiting turn four; the cars were heavily damaged but neither was injured. ... Kip Cochran drew a lap-three caution. ... A lap-15 caution also fell; Dale Timms stopped on the frontstretch and was pushed to the pits. ... Sunday's action at East Alabama includes the $30,000-to-win Super Late Model finale and two Crate Late Model features.
On the move: Kenny Limrick of Cochran, Ga., started 13th and finished third.
