Derek Fisher's team celebrates in victory lane at 191 Speedway.
What won the race: Pole-starting Derek Fisher of Olympia, Ky., led flag-to-flag Saturday at 191 Speedway for a $5,000 payday and his first career Coltman Farms Southern All Star Series victory. Fisher won by 1.478 seconds over Shannon Thornsberry in the tour's 40-lap season finale and first-ever appearance at the eastern Kentucky oval.
Key notes: Fisher also won at 191 on May 11. ... Runner-up Shannon Thornsberry was trying to add a second straight $5,000 payday at the track; he won Oct. 19's Fright Night 40. ... Third-place finisher Dalton Cook of Columbus, Ga., wrapped up the series championship. ... Six drivers completed 40 laps. ... Jordon Horton was fastest in time trials with a 12.836-second lap, but it was disallowed because of a deck-height violation; he retired after four laps in the feature. ... The race was originally scheduled for Sept. 21 before Southern All Stars officials postponed their sanction. ... The track reopened this season under the new ownership of brothers Willard and Wilford Lawson Jr.
