By Doug Neff
O'Reilly MLRAMOBERLY, Mo. (July 13) — Third-starting Terry Phillips of Springfield, Mo., overtook teammate Jeremy Payne on an early restart and led the final 33 laps at 24 Raceway for his series-leading 90th career victory on the O'Reilly Midwest LateModel Racing Association. Phillips, who earned $3,000, held off a late challenge from Tony Fraise of Donnellson, Iowa, a modified regular guesting in Denny Woodworth's backup car. Fraise finished second followed by Dave Eckrich of Cosgrove, Iowa, Mark Voigt of Marine, Ill., and series points leader David Turner of Creighton, Mo. | Slideshow
Some top contenders weren't around at the finish. Woodworth, who started on the pole, led the first two laps but was knocked out by mechanical problems and finished last in the 23-car field. Payne and Anderson battled for the second spot behind Phillips, but both were black-flagged for unsportsmanlike conduct.
