Carrier earns $5,000 for victory at Rocky Top
From track reports
COAL GROVE, Ohio (July 11) — Eddie Carrier Jr. of Salt Rock, W.Va., took advantage of Josh McGuire's bobble on the 14th lap to take a lead he'd never give up in the second annual Engines Inc. 50 at Rocky Top Raceway. Carrier, who survived contact with McGuire after he got loose in turn two, earned $5,000 for the unsanctioned event that shares the same sponsorship as his No. 28. McGuire, of Grayson, Ky., settled for second while Jackie Boggs of Grayson, Tim Dohm of Cross Lanes, W.Va., and Rod Conley of Wheelersburg, Ohio, rounded out the top five. North Carolina invader Ray Cook ran up front early but was among the race's early dropouts.
