McCOOL JUNCTION, Neb. (Aug. 1) — John Anderson of Omaha, Neb., dominated the first night of the King of the Hill Late Model Shootout for a $2,000 victory in a Junction Motor Speedway event sanctioned by three O'Reilly Auto Parts-sponsored series. Anderson outran Kelly Boen of Henderson, Colo., and Terry Phillips of Springfield, Mo., in event sanctioned by the Midwest LateModel Racing Association, National Championship Racing Association and Topless Outlaws Racing Association. | Slideshow
Travis Dickes of Madison, Neb., and David Turner of Creighton, Mo., rounded out the top five finishers on a night when more than 50 Late Models crowded the pits. Larry Clawson, a heat winner who led the first four laps of the feature, was 23rd. Action continues Saturday night at Junction.
