Andy Eckrich rumbles to $5,000 Dubuque victory

DUBUQUE, Iowa (Sept. 1) — Reigning track champion and current points leader Andy Eckrich of Cosgrove, Iowa, earned $5,000 for his victory in the unsanctioned Rumble by the River at Dubuque Speedway. Eckrich crossed the finish line ahead of Jason Utter of Columbus Junction, Iowa, in the event pushed from from its original Memorial Day weekend date. Chad Simpson of Mount Vernon, Iowa, finished third followed by Steve Ihm of Hazel Green, Wis., and Jason Rauen of Farley, Iowa. Davenport's Brian Harris, the previous night's winner and second in the track points chase, fell out on the first lap with mechanical problems. | Slideshow
