Gillette's Kirchoff earns $5,000 in Western 100

GILLETTE, Wyo. (Sept. 13) — Hometown driver Eddie Kirchoff started in the pole position at Gillette Speedway and raced to a $5,000 victory in the WISSOTA Western 100. Kirchoff outran Eric Mass of Rapid City, S.D., in the three-day, season-capping special for the westernmost WISSOTA competitors. Kelly Hample of Billings, Mont., was third while Hank Berry of Sidney, Mont., and Blaine Doppler of Menoken, N.D., rallied from their 10th-row starting spots to round out the top five. Justin Fegers of Mound, Minn., won the WISSOTA Central 100 in Huron, S.D., while the WISSOTA Eastern 100 was rained out in Brainerd, Minn. | Slideshow
