Notes: The World of Outlaws Case Late Model Series wraps up its 2024 season with the 18th annual World Finals at The Dirt Track at Charlotte. … For the second consecutive year, the four-day event features Wednesday night time trials followed by 35-lap, $15,000-to-win preliminary features on Thursday and Friday, preceding Saturday’s $25,000-to-win finale. … Brandon Sheppard of New Berlin, Ill., enters with a 44-point advantage over Bobby Pierce as he chases his fifth career Outlaws title (2017, ’19-’21). … If Sheppard finishes seventh or better in the three features, he'll clinch the championship. ... Pierce, of Oakwood, Ill., leads all drivers with 12 WoO victories this season as he chases his second straight series championship. Pierce has 37 victories overall and is DirtonDirt.com's top-ranked driver. … Freshly crowned Lucas Oil Series champ Ricky Thornton Jr. of Chandler, Ariz., grabbed his first two World Finals victories, including last year’s $25,000 finale. Thornton will be making his World of Outlaws NOS Energy Drink Sprint Car debut as well. … Mike Marlar of Winfield, Tenn., has won a $15,000 prelim in each of the last two seasons. … Jonathan Davenport of Blairsville, Ga., earned World Finals finale triumphs in 2022 ($25,000) and ’21 ($12,000). … WoO sprint cars and Super DIRTcar Series modifieds are also on the card.
