DirtonDirt.com correspondentTUCSON, Ariz. (Sept 26) — Lonnie Parker Jr. of El Mirage, Ariz., got the lead when outside front-row starter Brad Williams of Tucson struggled in lapped traffic at USA Race Park and went on to his eighth victory of the season on the Southwest DIRTcar Late Model Series. Hometown driver Mark Fowler was second followed by Williams, Jerry Fincher and Mike Tahtinen. | Slideshow
Williams shot past polesitter Jamie Throckmorton at the outset to set the early pace. Parker took up chase and Williams was in control through the 16th lap when trouble struck. The leader got caught in traffic and when he slowed to avoid two cars exiting turn four, he was forced to the infield, allowing Parker to grab the point. Williams recovered in the fourth spot but could make up just one position the rest of the way.
