Hickman's first win pays $3,500 at Tri-County

BRASSTOWN, N.C. (Oct. 2) — Kayne Hickman of Soddy Daisy, Tenn., captured his first-ever Super Late Model victory at Tri-County Racetrack with a victory in the Tar Heel 50. Hickman earned $3,500 in the unsanctioned event promoted by North Carolina driver Ray Cook at the track where he first started racing. Jamie Oliver of nearby Murphy, N.C., finished second followed by Murphy Shawn Chastain, Danny Ledford of Hiawassee, Ga., and Terry Casey of New London, Wis., who was among drivers en route to two weekend Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series events in Georgia.
