Champ Erb, Feger split Northern Allstars races

EAST MOLINE, Ill. (Oct. 10-11) — Dennis Erb Jr. of Carpentersville, Ill., wrapped up the Northern Allstars Late Model Series championship during the Fall Harvest Shootout at Quad City Raceway while series runner-up Jason Feger of Bloomington, Ill., matched Erb with a feature victory.
In Friday's opening feature, Erb started on the pole and led all the way for a $2,000 victory to outrun 15-year-old Brandon Sheppard of New Berlin, Ill. Tony Izzo Jr. of Bridgeview, Ill., was third with Steve Lance Jr. of Cuba, Ill., advancing nine position to finish fourth. Front-row starter Tim Lance was the first driver out of the race and Feger, who started third and ran second early, finished eighth.
In Saturday's finale, the sixth-starting Feger went to the high groove to take command and raced a $2,000 victory over Ray Guss Jr. of Milan, Ill., who as the weekend's big winner with a $5,000 victory in the modified main event. Steve Lance Jr. was third while Erb., who drove Lance's backup car after wrecking his No. 28 in time trials, rallied from 11th to finish fourth.
