StormPay.com Dirt Late Model Series

NORTH VERNON, Ind. (Sept. 21) — Chip Brindle of Chatsworth, Ga., will be looking for his third clean sweep of the 2007 StormPay.com Dirt Late Model Series season on Saturday night in the $5,000-to-win 75-lap main event at Twin Cities Raceway Park. On Friday night, Brindle drove his CSC Trailer Repair-sponsored GRT Race Car to fast time honors, and won the first heat to earn the pole position.

Brindle has two victory this season in series competition, and he set fast time and won his heat race in both of those events. Brindle started the evening on Friday by out-qualifying the 30 entrants with his first lap around the 3/8-mile high-banked clay oval in 15.590 seconds.

The second lap saw Brindle going for more, but he got into turn three a little bit too hot, and he spun, but the first lap was good enough for fast time honors. After starting on the pole for the first 12-lap heat race, Brindle went flag-to-flag for the win and the pole position for Saturday night’s 75-lap main event.

Joining Brindle on the front row for the big show will be StormPay.com DLMS championship contender and second 12-lap heat race winner Derrick Rainey of Powder Springs, Ga.

Jay Blair of Angie, La., another title contender, won the third 12-lap heat race to grab the inside second row starting spot on the Saturday night main event. Defending StormPay.com champion and current point leader David Gentry of Lewisburg, Tenn., won the fourth 12-lap heat race to get a seat for the big show from the outside of the second row. Rainey is second in the points, 24 points behind Gentry, and Blair is third, 28 points behind the point leader.
