Bernheisel earns $5,000 with Harris Memorial win

BUDDS CREEK, Md. (Oct. 17-18) — Jim Bernheisel of Lebanon, Pa. earned $5,000 at Potomac Speedway for capturing the 51-lap Vernon Harris Memorial. Booper Bare of Rockbridge Baths, Va., finished second in the unsanctioned special at the 3/8-mile oval while Kenny Pettyjohn of Millsboro, Del., was third. Kirk Ryan Jr. of Lewisberry, Pa., was fourth and Mark Pettyjohn, the brother of the third-place finisher, rounded out the top five. Fast qualifier Austin Hubbard of Laurel, Del., finished eighth.
Notes: Austin Hubbard's fast time was just 12 thousandths off Jeremy Miller's track record of 14.953 seconds. ... Drivers failing to qualify for the feature: Ed Pope, Eddie Drury, Paul Cursey, Chris Cromer and Ryan Hackett.
