Pittsburgher tuneup pays Hartman $1,500

Pittsburgh's Pennsylvania Motor SpeedwayIMPERIAL, Pa. (Sept. 21) — In a tuneup for the following night's World of Outlaws Late Model Series-sanctioned Pittsburgher, Bart Hartman of Zanesville, Ohio, earned $1,500 for a 25-lap victory at Pittsburgh's Pennsylvania Motor Speedway.
Former Pittsburgher winner Hartman grabbed the lead on the first lap and battled most of the way with Iowa invader Brian Birkhofer to pick up the victory.
Jared Miley, the PPMS Late Model champion, drove a strong race to finish third followed by a pair of former PPMS champs, Keith Barbara, and Al Atallah.

Heat races for the 30 Late Models on hand were won by Keith Barbara, Jared Miley and Brian Birkhofer. ... Jason Rider of Clinton, Pa., won his fourth feature of the year in the crate Late Model division. He finished ahead of track champion Kyle Lukon, Mike Cecere, Russ Kolesar and Jim Kutas. ...
