Fitzgerald rallies from fifth, wins at Screven
SYLVANIA, Ga. (Feb. 21) — Fifth-starting Jason Fitzgerald of Jacksonville, Fla., raced to the front at Screven Motor Speedway and marched to a National Late Model Series-sanctioned victory in the inaugural Winter Thaw. Fitzgerald earned $3,000 for his second career NLMS victory and second in four 2009 series events. | Slideshow
William Thomas of Phenix City, Ala., finished second in the 50-lapper followed by polesitter Brad Comer of Gray, Ga., Johnny Collins of Jacksonville and Jeremy Faircloth of Swainsboro, Ga. Jordy Nipper of Gray, Ga., started outside the front row but ended up 21st in the 26-car field.
