Ferguson races to $2,000 victory at Carolina

GASTONIA, N.C. (Sept. 21) — Chris Ferguson of Charlotte, N.C., earned $2,000 for a Fastrak touring series victory at Carolina Speedway. Ferguson outdueled John Pursley early in the race and went on to a victory that counted toward points on the Southern and Midwest Regions. | Slideshow
Ron Parker ended up second followed by Buddy Smith, Billy Thompson and Brandy Baker. Pursley, the night's fast qualifier, went to the tail after a tangle with his son Johnny, but he rallied to finish eighth.
