Hogge captures Western Allstars opener at Kings
HANFORD, Calif. (March 28) — The winningest driver in Western Allstars DIRTcar Late Model Series history maintained his winning ways in the 2009 series opener at Kings Speedway. Bobby Hogge IV of Salinas, Calif., started on the pole and led all 30 laps at the 3/8-mile oval for a $2,000 victory, his 11th on the tour. | Slideshow
Jeff Decker of Morgan Hill, Calif., started outside the front row and finished second while reigning Western Allstars champion Chris Shannon of Merced, Calif., rallied from 17th to finish third. Billy Griffin of Buena Park, Calif., and Johnny Malcolm of Corona, Calif., rounded out the top five in the Gary Jacob Memorial, a tribute to the late racing reporter.
