Thomas makes it 2-for-2 with Cleveland victory
CLEVELAND, Tenn. (April 18) — Driving Rick Hixson's backup car, series points leader William Thomas of Phenix City, Ala., captured the Carl Black Top Tracks Challenge Series event for Crate Late Models on Saturday at Cleveland Speedway. The polesitting Thomas earned $2,000 for winning the second in as many series races in 2009 by leading all 40 laps.
Ray Cook of Brasstown, N.C., finished second in the Cleveland Aluminum 40 followed by Brian Pritchard of Harrison, Tenn. Hixson, of Soddy Daisy, Tenn., and hometown driver Chip Brindle rounded out the top five.
