Roberts conquers Rome for $5,000 payday
ROME, Ga. (June 14) — Polesitter Casey Roberts of Toccoa, Ga., took over when fellow front-row starter Clint Smith of Senoia, Ga., pitted with a flat tire after 12 laps and led the rest of a 50-lap special event at Rome International Speedway. Roberts earned $5,000 in the unsanctioned special, finishing ahead of Jody Knowles of Tyrone, Ga. | Slideshow
Smith, who pitted to change the flat right-rear tire, rallied back to finish third in the 20-car field while Jake Knowles of Tyrone and Luther Jenkins of Waleska, Ga., rounded out the top five.
