WEST SILOAM, Ark. (June 20) — Seventh-starting Leslie Essary of Crane, Mo., took the lead from Chris Morelock on the 12th lap and led the rest of the 25-lap Show-Me Racin' Series event at West Siloam Speedway. Essary earned $1,000 for his series-leading 24th career victory but first of 2009.

Essary held off his father Ken Essary of Cape Fair, Mo., and Justin Wells of Aurora, Mo., for the victory. The polesitting Morelock, of Springfield, Mo., faded to fourth and Larry Campbell of Van Buren, Ark., rounded out the top five in the only series race at West Siloam this season.

Notes: Kathy Tonoli of Hermitage, Mo., started outside the front row and finished sixth. ... A red flag was thrown for Brad Cook on the ninth lap. ... Bill McMurtrie of Bartlesville, Okla., ran as high as second early in the race but was the event's first retiree. ... A lap-15 caution appeared for Mark Penticuff on the frontstretch. ... The final caution appeared on the 21st lap for Tim Adams. ... Next up for series drivers is a $1,500-to-win event at Lucas Oil Speedway in Wheatland, Mo. ... The series also added a July 18 event at Tri-State Speedway in Pocola, Okla.
