Bray rolls to Fastrak victory at Friendship
ELKINS, N.C. (July 24) — Fast qualifier and polesitter Royce Bray of Hull, Ga., led all 40 laps for a Fastrak Racing Series touring victory at Friendship Motor Speedway. Bray earned $2,000 at the track that hosts weekly Crate Late Model racing by another sanctioning body, NDRA.
Donald Bradsher of Burlington, N.C., finished second followed by Lee Cooper of Greer, S.C., Brian Conner of Martinez, Ga., and Kent Peckham of Statesville, N.C., in the mostly single-file event. Kenny Peoples Jr. of Rural Retreat, Va., was running fifth but fell from contention with a lap-33 spin.
The first start was scrubbed when the car of Tom Roberts got upside down at the flagstand after he got into the wall exiting turn four. He wasn't injured but his race was over and spilled fuel was burned off the frontstretch before the race resumed. Other cautions were for single-car incidents.
