Ivey leads 40 laps for Clash victory at Wythe
RURAL RETREAT, Va. (Aug. 8) — Polesitter Petey Ivey of Union, S.C., led all 40 laps at Wythe Raceway to grab his first victory on the Carolina Clash Super Late Model Series in more than three years. Ivey earned $4,000 at the half-mile oval.
Dennis Franklin of Gaffney, S.C., finished second followed by series points leader Ricky Weeks of Rutherfordton, N.C., who is looking for his sixth consecutive series crown. Ryan Gifford of Winchester, Tenn., and Tim Allen of Kannapolis, N.C., rounded out the top five. Jeff Smith of Dallas, N.C., second in series points, was 15th.
