Feistritzer takes richest Crate race at Ponderosa

Ponderosa SpeedwayJUNCTION CITY, Ky. (Aug. 14) — P.J. Feistritzer of Danville, Ky., overtook race-long leader Victor Lee of Stanford, Ky., on the 27th lap and led the rest of the second annual Colston Paving 40 at Ponderosa Speedway. Feistritzer earned $2,000 in the richest-ever Crate Late Model event at the 3/8-mile central Kentucky oval.
Lee, who had a straightaway lead erased by a lap-19 caution, settled for second while division points leader Jeremy Hines of Seymour, Ind., took the third spot. Robbie Sanders and Rick Hines, father of the third-place finisher, rounded out the top five.

Kevin Colston ran as high as third on the 15th lap but ended up seventh. ... Logan Whitis was running eight as the last car on the lead lap when he spun in turn one to draw a lap-28 caution. ... Whitney McQueary slowed for the lap-19 yellow. .... The race paid at least $125 to each starter.
