Moyer leads Batesville charge at Beebe
BEEBE, Ark. (Aug. 21) — Billy Moyer of Batesville, Ark., dropped in on the O'Reilly Mid-South Racing Association for a victory at Beebe Speedway. He led all 30 laps for the $2,000 victory.
Moyer led a trio of Batesville drivers in the top three with Wendell Wallace and Billy Moyer Jr. following the Hall of Famer to the checkered flag in a topless event at the quarter-mile oval. Jon Kirby of Russellville, Ark., finished third followed by Jeff Floyd of Walnut Ridge, Ark.
Father and son ran 1-2 through the first half of the race, but Moyer Jr.'s bid for a high-side pass opened the door for Wallace to take the second spot. The winner fought off challenges from Wallace before pulling away in a race slowed by a single caution.
