Feger's $5,000 at Farmer City buoys points lead
FARMER CITY, Ill. (Sept. 4) — Jason Feger of Bloomington, Ill., solidified his Monster Midwest Tour points lead at Farmer City Raceway with a $5,000 victory in the Farmer City 50. Feger started outside the front row and led all the way for his series-leading sixth victory.
Shannon Babb of Moweaqua, Ill., who started sixth but slipped back a few spots at the outset when he jumped the cushion, rallied back to second while eighth-starting Ryan Unzicker of El Paso, Ill., second in series points, was third. Dennis Erb Jr. of Carpentersville, Ill., was fourth and Rodney Melvin of Benton, Ill., rounded out the top five.
The event was slowed by two cautions, the first for a spin by Steve Sheppard Jr. on the first lap which caused a pileup. Another yellow on lap 39 involved Darren Miller, fast qualifier Billy Moyer and Sheppard, who ran second early in the race.
