Frank inherits Tri-City victory with Blose's DQ
By Mike Leone
Fastrak Northeast SeriesFRANKLIN, Pa. (Sept. 5-6) — Jim Frank of Jamestown, N.Y., was awarded a Fastrak Northeast touring victory at Tri-City Speedway after apparent flag-to-flag winner Mike Blose of Dayton, Pa., was disqualified. Series officials ruled Blose used non-GM parts valve locks in his crate engine.
The caution-free 30-lapper ended with a frontstretch melee at the finish as the top eight cars ran in a tight pack. While Blose crossed the line first, Mike Pegher Jr. tried to get under Frank exiting turn four. Pegher made contact, but Frank, Blair and Carl McKinney were able to continue while Pegher collected David Scott with Scott's car going airborne down the frontstretch, limping across the finish line in fifth. Scott was moved up to fourth following Blose's disqualification, retaining his series points lead.
