Thomas earns $5,000 victory at Green Valley
GLENCOE, Ala. (Nov. 21) — Polesitter William Thomas of Phenix City, Ala., earned $5,000 for an unsanctioned Crate Late Model victory at Green Valley Speedway. Thomas crossed the finish line ahead of David Gentry of Lewisburg, Tenn., for one of his richest paydays.
Front-row starter Chip Brindle of Chatsworth, Ga., finished third followed by Tom Maddox of Piedmont, Ala., and Eric Cooley of Fulton, Miss.
Notes: Ronnie Johnson of Chattanooga, Tenn., rallied from 18th to win the Super Late Model feature. ... T.J. Alford of Ball Play, Ala., won the Limited Late Model feature. ... All three Late Model divisions will be in action when Green Valley opens the 2010 season on Feb. 25-28. The $10,000-to-win Super Late Model feature will be sanctioned by the Southern Regional Racing Series.
