Varnadore wins at East Bay, collects $3,000
GIBSONTON, Fla. (March 4) — Travis Varnadore of Dover, Fla., earned $3,000 Thursday for a victory in the National All Star Racing Association event at East Bay Raceway Park's 34th Winternationals.
Varnadore, who started outside the front row, took the checkers ahead of Bryan Bernhardt of Clearwater, Fla., in the 25-lap main event. Polesitter Aaron Ridley of Chatsworth, Ga., was third followed by Steve Shaver of Vienna, W.Va., and Phillip Cobb of Riverview, Fla., in the first of three NASRA events at East Bay. Two cautions slowed the event, the first on the second lap when Bill Bray spun around and collected Doug Watson and Russ Adams. The second yellow appeared for Bray's lap-21 spin.
