Walters triumphs in first race on new DAA Series
LEBANON, Ore. (April 24) — Greg Walters of Banks, Ore., made a third-to-first move in the final 10 laps and raced to victory Saturday at Willamette Speedway in the first-ever race on the DAA Crate Late Model Series. Walters outran Jerry Schram and Darvin Tramel for 40-lap victory in the Greg Biffle-backed series sponsored by DAA Northwest and Sherwin-Williams. | Slideshow
Schram and Tramel ran one-two most of the way in a race slowed by two cautions with Tramel going inside Schram to take the lead on lap 28. Walters stalked the frontrunners and overtook both a few laps later to race to victory. Schram was second and Tramel third. Jeremy Shank and Brady Sell rounded out the top five while fast qualifier and dash winner Russ Sell was eighth.
