White grabs first SRRS victory at Wartburg
WARTBURG, Tenn. (May 8) — Surviving a wreck early in the race, Anthony White of Clinton, Tenn., became the second first-time series winner on the weekend with a $3,000 victory at Wartburg Speedway. White, who started sixth in the 21-car field, triumphed at one of his home tracks on the Southern Regional Racing Series.
Outside front-row starter Stacy Boles of Clinton finished second at Wartburg while fourth-starting Jason Welshan of Greenback, Tenn., was third. Skyler Marlar of Winfield, Tenn., and polesitter Anthony Burroughs of Muscle Shoals, Ala., rounded out the top five at the quarter-mile oval.
White's first series victory follows Skip Arp's first SRRS victory the previous night at Boyd's Speedway in Ringgold, Ga.
