McElhiney wins at Thunderhill for first SRRS victory
SUMMERTOWN, Tenn. (May 29) — Polesitter Ray McElhiney of Pulaski, Tenn., raced to his first career Southern Regional Racing Series victory Saturday at Thunderhill Raceway. McElhiney, who led flag to flag, earned $3,000 in outrunning fellow front-row starter Tony Morris of Murfreesboro, Tenn.
Eric Hickson of Linden, Tenn., was third followed by Josh Putnam of Florence, Ala., and Jay Brinkley of Raus, Tenn., the record-holder at the high-banked oval.
