McGuire outruns Boggs, collects $3,000 at 201
SITKA, Ky. (June 5) — Fast qualifier Josh McGuire went around fellow Grayson, Ky., driver Jackie Boggs on the eighth lap Saturday at 201 Speedway and led the rest of the way for a $3,000 victory at 201 Speedway.
Boggs settled for second at the quarter-mile oval in eastern Kentucky while Michael P. Howard, D.J. Wells and Terry Hicks rounded out the top five. Rick Williams of Beckley, W.Va., got up to second on the 19th lap, but fell from contention on lap 23 and ended up 18th in the 201 Showdown, an unsanctioned special event.
