Dacus tops Hottinger for MSRA victory at Malden
MALDEN, Mo. (June 10) — Fourth-starting Dane Dacus of Lakeland, Tenn., topped polesitter Dewaine Hottinger of Russellville, Ark., at Malden Speedway on Friday for his first Comp Cams Mid-South Racing Association victory of the season. Dacus, who took the lead from Hottinger on the 29th lap, earned $2,000 for the victory in the caution-free 40-lapper.
Hottinger, driving a car he field for rising NASCAR star Justin Allgaier in Wednesday’s Gillette Prelude to the Dream at Ohio’s Eldoray Speedway, finished second with Kyle Beard of Trumann, Ark., in third. Outside front-row starter Stacy Taylor of Jacksonville, Ark., and eighth-starting Wendell Wallace of Batesville, Ark., rounded out the top five at the track in the Missouri Bootheel.
