Turner's mid-race rally leads to West Plains victory
WEST PLAINS, Mo. (June 12) — Eric Turner of Springfield, Mo., went from fourth to first over a five-lap stretch and earned a $1,000 victory Saturday at West Plains Speedway, his first ever on the Race Brothers Show Me Racing Series.
Turner started seventh and worked toward the front, taking third from Chuck Comer of Joplin, Mo., on the 10th lap and then chasing frontrunners Larry Campbell of Van Buren, Ark., and Brandon McCormick of Lebanon, Mo. Series points leader Justin Wells of Aurora, Mo., rallied from 10th to finish second while Campbell finished third. Mason Oberkramer of Brosely, Mo., advanced 15 positions to finish fourth. McCormick ended up 21st after spinning on the 15th lap while battling Campbell.
