Kirchoff ties CLMA mark with weekend sweep
Eddie Kirchoff swept the June 25-26 weekend on the Colorado Late Model DIRTcar Series, capturing a pair of victories at Black Hills Speedway in Rapid City, S.D., and his hometown track of Gillette (Wyo.) Thunder Speedway.
Kirchoff earned $1,200 apiece for the victories and tied Brett Hallmark of Grand Junction, Colo., atop the all-time CLMA victories list with 16. Kirchoff was perfect on the weekend, winning two heat races, two dashes and two feature events
John Bey of Sturgis, S.D., was runner-up at Black Hills while Dave Garmann of Brighton, Colo., finished second at Gillette. Bey and Chad Chenoweth of Huron, S.D., were the only drivers besides Kirchoff to posts a pair of top-five finishes.
